Kejriwal will be Arrested on Nov 2: AAP

New Delhi: The Aam AadmiParty on Tuesday claimed thereare apprehensions that theEnforcement Directorate will
arrest Delhi Chief MinisterArvind Kejriwal on November 2after questioning him in a moneylaundering case linked to the
alleged excise policy scam. Theruling party in Delhi also allegedthat the BJP was trying to finishit off by putting its top leaders
behind bars.Mr Kejriwal has been issued thesummons under the Prevention ofMoney Laundering Act (PMLA)
and according to sources, the EDwill record his statement once hedeposes at the probe agency’sDelhi office at 11 am on November
2.This is the first time that MrKejriwal has been summoned bythe ED. He was questioned bythe Central Bureau of
Investigation in the case in April.Addressing a press conference onTuesday, Delhi Cabinet MinisterAtishi claimed the BJP was using
these tactics to target the AAP asit knows that it cannot defeatKejriwal in elections.”There are reports that Kejriwalwill be arrested on November 2.If he is arrested, it won’t bebecause of corruption (charges)but because he has spoken againstthe BJP,” she said. “The AAP
defeated the BJP in DelhiAssembly polls twice and also inMCD polls. Prime MinisterNarendra Modi is scared of AAP
national convener ArvindKejriwal. The BJP knows theycannot defeat the AAP inelections.” Referring to the arrestof the AAP’s top leadership,including Manish Sisodia, SanjaySingh and Satyendar Jain, Atishiclaimed it only means that the BJPwants to finish off the AAP.Satyendar Jain has been grantedbail in a money laundering case.”After Kejriwal is arrested, theBJP will target other leaders ofthe INDIA alliance and its chiefministers using the CBI and ED.”Next they will targetJharkhand Chief Minister HemantSoren since they have been unableto defeat him. Then they willtarget Tejashwi Yadav since theyhave not been able to break thealliance in Bihar. Then KeralaChief Minister Pinarayi Vijayanand Tamil Nadu Chief MinisterM K Stalin will be targeted,” sheclaimed.
Atishi reiterated that AAPleaders are not scared of going tojail and will keep fighting to savethe Constitution till their lastbreath. AAP leader SaurabhBharadwaj echoed Atishi’s viewsand asserted that the party hasonly grown stronger in the face of
opposition. “The BJP is tryingto put Arvind Kejriwal and othertop leaders of the AAP behindbars. Whenever attempts have
been made to suppress and finishoff the Aam Aadmi Party, it hasonly emerged stronger,” he said.The AAP’s Delhi stateconvener Gopal Rai alsoaddressed a press conference andsaid that the party will keepworking for the common man.”There have been attacks in the
past too and we have only grownstronger. They want to arrestArvind Kejriwal since they wantto finish off the Aam Aadmi Party.
They tried to break AAP MLAsby lodging more than 170 casesagainst them but failed. The AAPis not working for itself but forthe common man,” he asserted.
