Job Fraud: 3 Including Woman Arrested In Odisha

Angul: Odisha police on Saturday arrested three persons for allegedly duping a youth from Paralakhemundi on the pretext of giving him job in an industrial house.

The accused have been identified as Ranjan Kumar Tripathy and his wife Mitali from Rajkishorepada and one Ranjan Kumar Sahu from Rengali.

According to reports, in response to an advertisement, the victim had applied for a job in an industrial house. The trio asked the applicant to deposit Rs 52,000 in a bank account towards registration fees. The victim fell into their trap and deposited the amount but didn’t get the appointment letter as promised. Few days later, he was again asked to deposit Rs 15,000 to get the appointment letter.

Frustrated over the approach of the trio, the victim demanded his money back from them. But the frauds again demanded Rs 2,000 from him to get a refund of his money. Later, the victim lodged a police complaint following which the cops arrested the trio probing the number of people being duped by the fraudsters.

Earlier this week, a father-son duo was arrested in the district for duping a youth on the pretext of giving him job in a multinational company.

The accused identified as Ghanashyam Mishra and his son of Similipada area in the district had duped one Pranabandhu Jena of Benagadia in the same district of Rs 4.50 lakh on promise of landing him a job in the Tata Company.
