Observation of Vigilance Awareness Week at ICAR-CIFA

Bhubaneswar: ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Kausalyaganga, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, observed the “Vigilance Awareness Week2023” with the theme “Say no to corruption; Commit to the Nation” from 30th October to 5thNovember, 2023. The “Integrity Pledge for The Citizens” and also “Integrity Pledge for The Organization” was taken by all employees of the ICARCIFA at it’s head quarter at Kausalyaganga, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, and also at it’s regional research centres at Rahara, West Bengal; Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh; Bengaluru, Karnataka and Bhatinda, Punjab in virtual mode. Dr. J.K.Sundaray, Director(I/ C), Dr.Bindu R. Pillai, Vigilance officer and Mr. H.L. Meena Chief Administrative Officer of ICAR-CIFA emphasized the role of vigilance in an organization for its clean image and public service. Following the guidelines of the CVC, ICAR-CIFA has made various banners on “PIDPI (Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informers)” in Hindi, Odiya, English, Telugu, Kannada and Bengali and has displayed them at its headquarters and regional stations. A debate competition on the “Creation of Awareness among citizens is the only way to end the corruption” was organized during this week. A sensitization workshop was held on 01st November 2023. On this occasion, Sri George Mathan, Judicial Member, Income Tax Appellate Tribunal, Cuttack presided as the chief guest and delivered a talk on “Preventive vigilanceKey tools to Good Governance and PIDPI’ and emphasized the role of preventive vigilance in eradicating corruption. A video presentation on PIDPI was also screened for the staff of the institute. Dr. S.S.Giri, Director (I/C) of the institute requested all employees to remain alert on every aspects so that the prestige of the institute remain at its highest, and all stakeholders get smoothservice of this institute without any problems. Dr.Bindu R. Pillai, Principal Scientist and Vigilance Officer of the institute expressed the need for the creation of awareness about preventive vigilance measures among staff and the public for a corruption-free organization. She thanked all employees of the ICAR-CIFA for observing the vigilance awareness week with great enthusiasm and spirit and also providing their highest service and support to the farmers, researchers and all stakeholders without any hindrance. On 2nd November a Capacity Building programme was conducted. On 3rd November an Awareness Gram Sabhawasalso heldat the PratapSasan GramPanchayat of Balianta Block of Khordha District to create awareness among public on initiatives of Government on Prevention of Corruption.
