Naveen Launches LAccMI Bus Yojana in Malkangiri

Bhubaneswar: Giving a majorboost to public transport systemin rural areas, Chief MinisterNaveen Patnaik on Thursdaylaunched the much-awaitedLAccMI (Location AccessibleMultimodal Initiative) scheme
from Malkangiri district.Addressing the gathering, theChief Minister said Malkangirihas been the launching pad for
development in the state as manyother flagship programmes suchas Rs 1 per kg rice scheme, BijuSwasthya Kalyan Yojana werelaunched from Malkangiri districtas well.The CM said said he receivedthe suggestion to enhance theallocation for mothers to Rs 10lakhs under the BSKY schemefrom Malkangiri district.He said that during its visit toMalkangiri district, the CMOteam came across the hardshipsfaced by the people. Later, thegovernment envisaged toimplement the LAccMI scheme.”This LAccMi scheme willtransform the public transportsystem in the state. The schemewill strengthen our economy andbring prosperity to every villageof the state.”A new trend fordevelopmenthas commenced in thesePanchayats with theimplementation of the scheme,”the Chief Minster said.In the first phase, bus serviceswill be provided in rural areas ofsix districts- Malkangiri,Koraput, Nabarangpur,Rayagada, Kalahandi, andGajapati under the LaccMIscheme. The bus services willconnect the gram panchayatswith the block and districtheadquarters. It will also join thedistrict headquarters to the statecapital.”Communication is thecornerstone for development.LAccMI will connect everyonewith development.
