Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday accorded seal of approval for the establishment of gastroenterology department at Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati (MKCG) Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved a proposal in this regard by sanctioning 19 teaching and non – teaching posts for the Gastroenterology department (both medicine and surgery), a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office said.
The opening of two super specialty wings- Medical Gastroenterology and Surgical Gastroenterology — at the premier medical institution, the people of the southern region of the State will reap immense benefit, said the Chief Minister’s Office release.
The availability of super specialty services at the MKCG Hospital will herald a new era in the healthcare sector in the southern Odisha. The MKCG Medical College and Hospital is a premier healthcare institution in southern parts of Odisha.
It continues to play a major role in providing the standard healthcare services to people in the State in general and residents of southern districts in particular, the release concluded.
