Bhubaneswar, Apr 7 (UNI) A Special Squad commissionerate of Police today arrested five people including three women and recovered around 120 kg of Ganja worth around Rs 12 lakh from their possession.
Police sources said acting on specific information the special squad conducted a raid at Ghatikia under Bharatpur Police station and recovered the contraband packed in pockets weighing from one to 10 kg packets.
Police arrested Kamlesh Yadab ,Sushilen Lima , Susilan Lima —all three of Bihar and Sugyani Behera and Kumani Behera of Ganjam areas in connection with the incident.
The Bihari youths had engaged the two ladies to procure the Ganja from Kandhamal areas which they were bringing in small quantities in bags in buses and were stocking ganja in the rented house .
The accused were transporting the same from the rented house to different place the inside town as well to Bihar and Jharkhand areas .
The ladies were paid Rs 700 to 800 per consignment.
Police have registered a case under NDPS act and inquiring into the incident.
