CM Inaugurates Eco-Retreat at 3 More Locations

Bhubaneswar/Puri: EcoRetreat 2023-24, Odisha’s muchawaited glamping event, is back. This time, in a much bigger way with Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik virtually inaugurating its 5th edition at three more locations including Konark, Sonapur and Bhitarkanika here today. Last month on November 1, the CM had inaugurated Eco Retreat Putsil, Daringbadi, Hirakud and Satkosia. The event, this year, promises exotic holidaying experiences with exciting watersports, and other recreational activities. While Eco Retreat Konark has 70 cottages, Bhitarkanika (Pentha) and Sonapur have 25 each. Inaugurating the event, Patnaik in his speech said, “After having successfully organized four editions, Odisha Government’s flagship product Eco Retreat has been highly appreciated by the travel and tourism fraternity for its sustainable model incorporating best practices in waste to wealth and holistic resource management while offering tourists a more refined leisure hospitality akin to star category resorts.” Minister of Tourism Aswini Patra, Minister of State, E & IT, Sports & Youth Services and Home Tusharkanti Behera, Chairperson Konark NAC Sanjukta Tripathy & Director Tourism Sachin R. Jadhav were present for the opening of Eco Retreat, Konark along with other officials of Department of Tourism. Notably, the Eco Retreats in Odisha are committed towards being a zero-waste discharge tourism initiative, ensuring that the environment remains unharmed. These retreats are strategically positioned in ecologically sensitive areas, and Odisha Tourism has taken measures to ensure that the tourism activities in these destinations have a minimal impact on the natural environment. Tourists visiting these destinations this winter can experience 5-star facilities through glamorous camps amidst the lap of nature. Various activities like guided tours, adventure activities like water sport, paragliding are included to make their stay memorable.
