Dry Weather to Prevail Across Odisha; Colder Nights Ahead

Bhubaneswar: Even as Odisha is feeling the winter chill and morning fog amid prevailing dry weather, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday forecast further drop in the night temperature by 2-3 degree Celsius during next 2 days. Shallow to moderate fog is likely at one or two places in Interior Odisha till Monday morning, according to the midday bulletin. The weather agency said that the minimum temperature in the state may plummet to 9 degree Celsius at Koraput town and Phulbani in Kandhamal by December 13-14 with Sundargarh and Rourkela at 10 degree Celsius each. The mercury is likely to drop to 15 and 16 degree Celsius in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar respectively. Most places in the state may record temperature below 20 degree Celsius by then. In the last 24 hours, Koraput was the coldest place at 11.2 degree Celsius followed by Semiliguda, also in Koraput district, at 12 degree Celsius, G Udayagiri (13.2) in Kandhamal district, Angul (14), Daringbadi (14.5) and Phulbani (14.8), also in Kandhamal. Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 18.3 and 17.5 degree Celsius respectively.
