Bhubaneswar : The daily covid load in Odisha continued to remain below 200 mark for the last one week.
Health and Family Welfare department sources said 169 new positive cases were reported from 16 districts in the past 24 hours taking the cumulative tally in the state to 10,52,641.
Khordha district remained at the top in the district tally with 88 cases, about 52.7 per cent of the new cases while no new cases were reported from 14 districts and the other 14 districts recorded single-digit positive cases.
Out of 169 new infections, 97 were reported from the quarantine centres and 72 as local contact cases. At least 27 positive cases were found in the age group of 0to 18 years.
Official sources said only one covid death was recorded in the past 24 hours from Mayurbhanj district in the ongoing health audit pushing the total fatalities in the state to 8442.
During the period 222 more covid patients were cured taking the total recoveries in the state to 10, 42,224. The active cases further declined to 1922 of which Khordha district alone accounted for 913 cases followed by Cuttack ( 122).
These two coastal districts together contributed 53.8 per cent of the total active cases in the state.
As many as 21 districts in the state recorded double-digit active cases while seven districts have single-digit active cases.
The Test Positivity Rate(TPR) of the state stood at 0.27 per cent on Saturday. Only two districts Deogarh and Khordha however, reported a test positivity rate above one per cent at 1.6 per cent and 1.3 per cent respectively.
As many as 15 districts recorded less than one per cent TPR while the other 13 districts registered zero TPR.
