Bhubaneswar : Odisha reported 3577 new Covid cases and 40 deaths in the past 24 hours taking the Covid tally in the state to 8,77,502 and the death toll to 3590, Health and Family Welfare department sources said on Sunday.
The recovery in the state surged to 8,35,132 with 5281 people being cured in the past 24 hours from the virus while the active cases further dipped to 38,727.
Official sources said only four districts have more than 2501 active cases, 18 districts have less than 1000 active cases while eight districts have active cases ranging from 1001 to 2500.
Jharsuguda district in Western Odisha has the lowest number of 155 active cases while Khordha district has the highest number of 6178 active cases.
As far as the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) is concerned, as high as 19 of the total 30 districts have less than 5 percent, five districts have TPR between 5 percent to 7.5 percent while six districts have TPR above 7.5 percent.
Jharsuguda district which has the lowest active cases in the state has also recorded the lowest TPR of 0.4 percent while Jajpur in Coastal Odisha has the highest TPR of 16 percent.
Khordha district in coastal Odisha has topped in the total covid tally,recovery, active and fatalities in the state.
It has so far registered 1,30,698 covid positive cases,1,23,942 recoveries,6178 active cases and 568 fatalities. Deogarh district in Western Odisha has reported 31 fatalities,the lowest in the state.
