Bhubaneswar : Odisha reported 580 covid positive cases in the past 24 hours with 0.95 percent test positivity rate in the last 24 hours taking the tally in the state to 10,18,298.
Health and family Welfare department sources said out of 580 new cases,336 were reported from the quarantine centres and 244 as local contact cases.A least 77 positive cases were reported from the age group of 0 to 18 years.
Khordha district has reported the highest number of 261 cases followed by Cuttack ( 87) and Jajpur( 29). These three districts together contributed for 65 percent of the total new case reported from the state in the past 24 hours.
Sources said at least eight of the 30 districts in the state reported no new positive cases during the period.
During the health audit four more covid deaths were recorded from three districts taking the total fatalities in the state to 8118.
As many as 27 districts have reported the test positivity rate below 1 percent while the highest test positivity rate of3.5 percent was recorded in Khordha district followed by Cuttacki ( 1.4 percent) and Jagatsinghpur( 1.2 percent).
The active cases in the state stood at 5963 majority of which were reported from Khordha district(2487) followed by Cuttack ( 782).These two coastal districts have accounted for 54.82 percent of the total active cases in the state.
