Covid 19: Odisha records 412 new cases in past 24 hours,daily TPR dips to 0.58 percent

Bhubaneswar : The daily test positivity rate in Odisha further dipped to 0.58 percent as 412 people tested covid positive in the past 24 hours from 70,194 tests taking the total tally in the state to 10,40,230.

Health and Family Welfare department sources said out of 412 new cases,237 were reported from the quarantine centres and 175 as local contact cases.

At least 63 positive cases were reported from the age group of 0 to 18 years.

Khordha district alone accounted for 189 cases, highest in the state, registering 45.8 percent followed by Cuttack ( 46) and Mayurbhanj(14).

Sources said as many as 17 of the total 30 districts in the state reported single digit covid cases in the past 24 hours.

The total recoveries surged to 10,27,108 after 334 patients were recovered from the virus on Wednesday.

The active cases in the state stood at 4747of which Khordha district alone contributed 2333 cases, about 49.1 percent of the total active cases in the state.

Four more covid deaths, two from Khordha and one each from Kendrapara and Mayurbhanj districts were recorded in the state in the past 24 hours during the health audit pushing the total fatalities in the state to 8322.

As far as the test positivity rate of the districts in the past 24 hours, only Khordha district has recorded 2.1 percent whereas the other 29 districts reported test positivity rate less than one percent.
