PURI:Â Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday inaugurated the newly constructed Talabania police station building and a 20-unit police residential quarter at the police lines in Puri district.The new infrastructure is expected to strengthen policing services in the region by providing a modern, efficient and citizen-friendly environment for both law enforcement personnel and the public.
                

     Among those present at the inauguration were Puri MP Sambit Patra, Puri MLA Sunil Kumar Mohanty, Brahmagiri MLA Upasana Mohapatra, Satyabadi MLA Om Prakash Mishra, Odisha Director General of Police Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, Odisha State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation chairman and managing director Soumendra Priyadarshi, Central Range IG Satyajit Nayak, Puri SP Prateek Singh and Puri collector Divyajyoti Parida, along with several senior administrative and police officials.
    Constructed at a cost of Rs 4.65 crore, the state-of-the-art police station has been equipped with several modern facilities aimed at improving public service delivery and enhancing operational efficiency.The ground floor houses eight rooms, including a reception area, women and child help desk, counselling room, crèche, electrical room, accessible toilet for persons with disabilities, and separate toilets for men and women.The first floor comprises 13 rooms, including male and female lock-ups, DCO room, women’s rest room, changing room, waiting area, VHF room, CCTNS room, the inspector-in-charge’s office and a reader’s room.
     The second floor contains nine rooms, including a conference hall, office of the additional officer-in-charge,interrogation room, armoury, malkhana, record room, office space and rest room.The third floor has barrack facilities for police personnel along with a kitchen, rest room, bathrooms and toilets.Officials said the new building will provide a more comfortable and functional working environment for police officers and staff posted at Talabania police station, while enabling faster and more effective public service delivery.
