CM Launches Health Infra Projects worth 1140 Cr

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to further strengthen healthcare services in the State, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday launched health infrastructure projects worth Rs 1140 crore through video conferencing. The Chief Minister inaugurated 103 projects built at the cost of Rs 140 crore and laid the foundation stone of 372 projects across the State which will be developed at the cost of Rs 1000 crore. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that in the field of healthcare, 5T initiatives have brought transformation in government hospitals through various initiatives. This has increased people’s confidence on the government health system. The Chief Minister also said that the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) has been a blessing for the people. People are getting better healthcare services at no cost. More than 1 lakh patients are getting benefits every month. It is a reflection of our commitment to provide better healthcare to people. The Chief Minister said that our aim is to make Odisha a role model in the field of healthcare. Stating that today’s projects will bring a big change in the field of health infrastructure, the Chief Minister said that our goal is “Sustha Odisha Sukhi Odisha’. Stating that Rs 12, 000 crores have been spent on the development of health infrastructure in the last 5 years the Chief Minister said that our aim is to improve the primary health, community health and district health services at all levels of the state.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister launched a special helpline of BSKY- 1800 120 120 104 for the Odia people living outside the state. Attending the programme, Health Minister Niranjan Pujari said that in the last two decades there has been a significant change in the healthcare sector in the state under the leadership and guidance of the Chief Minister. 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman V.K. Pandian moderated the programme. Health Secretary Shalini Pandit, Development Commissioner Anu Garg and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
