Bhubaneswar: As many as 1,722 beneficiaries were provided with pucca houses in the Capital city as Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today launched three affordable housing projects for economically weaker sections (EWS). These projects are located at Budha Vihar, Satya Nagar Shantipalli and Subudhipur. After inaugurating the projects, the CM handed over the keys of the new houses to the beneficiaries. All these projects have been built by the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA). On the occasion, Patnaik said that slum dwellers play an important role in the development of the city. He said that he is happy to provide pucca houses to poor slum residents. The CM visited Buddha Vihar near Chandrasekhar and inaugurated the five-storey affordable housing project built on 12 acres of land under the ‘Housing for All’ program in urban areas. As many as 820 houses have been completed and are being given to the beneficiaries. A total of 2600 houses have been targeted for construction the people belonging to economically weaker section. Similarly, a total of 1300 houses are being constructed in Satyanagar Shantipali under the In Situ Slum Redevelopment Project. 560 houses have been constructed and allotted to the beneficiaries. Similarly, 342 houses have been constructed and allotted to the beneficiaries under the affordable housing project in Subudhipur. These projects have basic amenities like drinking water supply, drainage system, sewerage system, street lighting, shops, library, reading room, dispensary etc. 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman V.K Pandian was present. Among others, Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Usha Devi, Minister for Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Ashok Panda, Bhubaneswar MLA Anant Narayan Jena, Bhubaneswar North Sushant Rout, Mayor Sulochana Das, Deputy Mayor, Chief Secretary P.K Jena, Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg and senior officials were present at the events.
