Bhimavaram (Andhra Pradesh), June 12 : Union Minister for Tourism and Culture G Kishan Reddy on Sunday reviewed the arrangements being made for the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Bhimavaram on July 4.
Modi will participate in the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju.
Reddy reviewed the arrangements with West Godavari District Collector P Prasanthi, Superintendent of Police U Ravi Prakash, Joint Collector J Murali and other officials.
Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister said that the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Alluri Sitarama Raju would be held across the country from July 4, 2022 and July 4, 2023.
He said the Prime Minister will arrive at Gannavaram Airport on July 4 and from there he will come to Bhimavaram by helicopter.
Modi will address a public meeting on the occasion.
Earlier, Kishan Reddy paid tributes toAlluri Sitarama Raju by garlanding his statue at Palakoderu village in Mogalturu Mandal of West Godavari district.
He also visited Alluri Sitarama Raju memorial building and planted a sapling in the premises.
Speaking on the occasion, the Tourism Minister lauded the role played by Alluri Sitarama Raju in the freedom struggle.
BJP state president Somu Veerraju, former Minister Kamineni Srinivas, former MP Gokaraju Ganga Raju, MLA Mantena Rama Raju and other leaders were present.
