Admin demolished the homes of three criminals

Keonjhar: In line with its commitment to curb and take action against the increasing criminal activity in Barbil and surrounding areas, the houses of three individuals living on government land in Wards 1, 8, and 9 of Barbil Municipality in Keonjhar district were demolished using a JCB machine on Tuesday.
                   
           Following the service of notices by Barbil Municipality at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, under the leadership of Barbil Tehsildar cum Executive Magistrate Rakesh Kumar Panda, along with a large police force, including Barbil Police Station in-charge Ashok Kumar Nayak, the house of Mohammad Rohit, a resident of Hirakud Colony, Plot No. 67, in Barbil Mouza, Ward No. 1, Nalda-2, under Barbil Municipality, was demolished with the help of a JCB.
          The police administration stated that six different criminal cases were registered against Rohit at the Barbil Police Station between 2022 and 2025. In the same sequence, the house of 33-year-old Mohammad Shakir Hussain, resident of Ward No. 9, Azad Basti, in Barbil Mouza, under the Barbil Police Station, was demolished. A case under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act has been registered against Shakir Hussain in Case No. 129, dated 01/05/23, at the Barbil Police Station. Later that afternoon, the house of 22-year-old Mohammad Taufiq, resident of Ward No. 8, Barkatnagar, Plot No. 129/960, Account No. 42, Badbil Mouza, under the Barbil Police Station, was demolished.
           According to the police administration, a total of four different criminal cases are registered against Mohammad Taufiq at the Barbil Police Station from 2023 to 2026.  Meanwhile, Barbil Executive Magistrate Rakesh Kumar Panda stated that in the coming days, the houses of three other people involved in criminal activities will also be demolished.
