180 Platoons of Police Force to be Deployed

While all preparations are going on in full swing to make the Yatra beautiful and disciplined, the district administration and the Temple Administration are holding discussions with various departments, officials and servitors at various stages. On the other hand, keeping in mind the law and order and security, the police administration is also repeatedly holding discussions with senior police officials. In this regard, ADG Of Police Amitabh Thakur reached Puri on Thursday and held an important meeting at the SP’s office on the law and order situation and traffic arrangements during the Rath Yatra. Various aspects were discussed in the meeting. As many as 180 platoons of police force will be deployed in Puri town during the New Year’s yatra of the Lord. In addition, senior officers of the police department will also be in charge of disciplined darshan of devotees, crowd control, traffic management. The meeting, however, laid special emphasis on crowd control as well as traffic
management. A video will be released by the police to ensure that devotees coming to Puri from the state and outside the state do not face any problem and where they can park their vehicles during the Ghosh yatra. A total of 45 platoons of police force will be deployed exclusively for crowd control and traffic management. Apart from this, arrangements are being made to take all other measures including adequate CCTV cameras, police control room at various places including inside, outside and surroundings of the temple. In this meeting IG Asis Singh, SP K Vishal Singh and other officers were present.
