100th Swachhata Hi Seva Programme Held at Paradip Beach

Paradip:- The 100th “Swachhata Hi Seva” Programme was successfully organized at Paradip Beach by the Paradip College NCC Alumni Association. This landmark event witnessed enthusiastic participation from NCC cadets, alumni members, and local citizens committed to environmental conservation and public cleanliness.
                       
        The programme was graced by Basanta Biswal, Chairman of Paradip Municipality, as the Chief Guest. Distinguished guests included Krishnakant Choubey, Commandant (JG), Indian Coast Guard, Ajit Sadangi, Councillor of Ward No. 8, and Lieutenant Commander Akshaya Chandra Mishra, Advisor to the NCC Alumni Association.
          Among those present were Ambika Prasad Mohapatra, President of the NCC Alumni Association, Vice Presidents Vivekananda Mohapatra and Bikram Singh Maharana, Secretary Padmanava Das, Joint Secretaries Nilima Priyadarshini, Anadi Senapati, and Hridananda Nath Sharma. Executive members Somanath Mohapatra, Lipuna Barik, Santosh Mohapatra, Subhashis Tripathy, Deepak Ojha, Jitendra Barik, Pikun Senapati, Arunima Nayak, Sucharita Rout, Tejaswini, along with numerous NCC cadets and alumni members, actively participated in the beach cleaning drive.
          On this occasion, awareness was created among the public regarding the harmful effects of polythene and single-use plastics, proper waste segregation, and the importance of protecting the environment to keep Paradip clean and green.Guided by the motto “Nation First,” the Paradip College NCC Alumni Association has been continuously serving society and the environment. The association has successfully conducted beach cleaning drives for 100 consecutive Sundays, organized annual blood donation camps collecting more than 110 units of blood, carried out anti-drug awareness campaigns, distributed buttermilk during summer to help people cope with heat waves, installed water and food pots for birds, and conducted road safety and traffic awareness programmes.
The association has earned widespread appreciation from the public for its dedicated efforts in promoting cleanliness, environmental protection, and social welfare across various areas of Paradip.
Speaking on the occasion, President Ambika Prasad Mohapatra reaffirmed that the association will continue to undertake such public welfare and environmental conservation initiatives in the future.
