New Delhi : Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu on Monday appealed to the people to perform Yoga on occasion of the International Day of Yoga and adopt it as a part of their daily lives.
Extending greetings on the occasion, he said that Yoga not only helps one physically and mentally but it also improves the health of the society.
“It is good both for the people and the country”, he added.
Earlier in the day, Mr Naidu performed Yoga with his wife Ushamma on the lawns of the Upa-Rashtrapati Niwas.
Owing to the coronavirus pandemic, India is celebrating the day virtually.
The Ministry of AYUSH kick-started the event at 0630 hrs virtually during which Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister of State for AYUSH Kiran Rijiju addressed the nation.
