Tokyo : Indian men’s hockey team regained their winning form after a humiliating defeat at the hands of Australia when they beat Spain 3-0 in a group match here on Tuesday.
For the men in blue Rupinder Pal Singh (15′, 51′) and Simranjeet Singh (14′) scored, including one from a penalty stroke, while goalkeeper PR Sreejesh kept a clean sheet to bring India’s Olympics campaign back on track.
This was India’s second win in three matches. Earlier they had defeated New Zealand 3-2 on Saturday, before going down to Australia. India is now placed at the second position in the group of six.
The top four teams from the group will go to the knockout stage.
