Kolkata : The anti-cyber-crime police have busted a fake call centre and arrested 11 accused persons at an IT hub in the southern part of the city, police said on Tuesday.
The cybercrime branch following a specific report raided the fake call centre at Webel IT park in Taratala on Monday evening and busted the racket and seized many computers, telephones, mobile sets and electronic gadgets.
The call centre was in the name of a famous American multinational technology company.
The arrested were Md Appu Tasfin, Md Ali, Mirza Ryaz, Kasif Hasan, Mirza Shanwaz, Sk Jasim, Babu Prasad, Tousif Ali, Md Shahbaz, Saheed Afridi, and Avhijit Ghosh.
All the accused persons were being produced before a court of law on Tuesday.
The city police and West Bengal police in recent times have busted many rackets and arrested cheats including fake IPS, fake IAS, fake vaccine centres, fake army and police personnel and fake CBI and ED officials.
