The Role of RTI Act. Important for Good Governance

Khordha, : Seminar on RTI Act was held in the conference hall of Zilla Parishad, Khordha.The guest of honour of the occasions Additional District Magistrate(Revenue) Safalya Mandit Pradhan, Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Pratap Chandra Beura, Zilla Parishad Chief Development & Executive Officer Joyti Shankar Sahu, Additional Chief Development Officer Kasturi Bala Jena were attended the event.The role of Right to Information(RTI) Act is important for good governance. District Information and Public Relations Officer Jyotsnamayee Acharya delivered welcomed speech and compered the programme. As a Master Trainer in the Information and Public Relations Department of the Government of Odisha, Harsh Parichha imparted Right to Information training to all First Appellate Authorities and Public Information Officers & emphasis was laid on the implementation of 17 Manual 4 (1) (b) in Odia language in all government offices by 31.03.2025. Additional District Magistrate (Revenue) Mr. Pradhan also spoke on the important aspects of Right to Information Act. Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Pratap Chandra Beura spoke about the
Supreme Court and High Court judgements on Right to Information (RTI) Act and advised the officials that the cash books and registers should be maintained properly.
He instructed them to issue written instructions as to who will be the first appellate
authority and public information officer in which government office and who will be the assistant public information officer. Chief Development Officer, Zila Parishad, Mr.Sahu advised the officials to provide the information to the applicants on time.
