New Delhi : More than 2.88 crore balance and unutilized Covid vaccine doses are still available with the states, UTs and private hospitals, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said in a statement on Wednesday.
As many as 53,38,210 are in the pipeline, it added.
So far, the Centre has provided 43.25 crore (43,25,17,330) doses to the states. Out of this, the total consumption, including wastages amounts to 40,36,44,231 doses, as per the available data.
Till date, 41,54,72,455 people have been administered COVID-19 vaccines, with 34,25,446 being inoculated against the virus during the past 24 hours, the Ministry said.
The new phase of universal COVID-19 vaccination commenced on June 21. Since then, the vaccination drive has been ramped up through availability of more vaccines.
