Sensex down by 372.46 points

Mumbai, July 13 (Dumanimail) The BSE Sensex remained under pressure for the third straight session on Wednesday, as it plummeted 372.46 points to settle at 53,514.15 as selling was seen in Power, Utilities, Oil and Gas and Energy stocks.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too slipped by 91.65 points at 15,966.65.

See saw trend was seen during the day, as the Sensex opened higher by 324 pts to open at 54,210.10. During the day it was surged 325 pts at 54,211.22. Later, it was tumbled down nearly 431 pts at 53,455.26, days low before closing at 53,514.15, 372.46 pts from its previous close.

The Sensex registered days high and low at 54,211.22 and 53,455.26 points, respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 16,140 and 15,950.15, respectively.

The sectoral indices like Power, Utilities, oil and gas and Energy dragged the market today.

The Mid Cap rose by 0.32 pc and the Small Cap by 0.04 per cent.

In 30 scrips, 16 advanced, while 14 declined.
