Sandeep Lamichhane, Nepal’s spinner has been named as the replacement for Afghanistan spin bowler Rashid Khan in the Lahore Qalandars squad for the ongoing sixth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Rashid Khan Had To Depart After Playing 2 Games For National Duty
Rashid Khan had to depart after featuring in two matches against Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi as he was called up for national duty. Lahore Qalandars won the two games by four and nine wickets respectively.

Last week, Rashid Khan was named in Afghanistan’s squad for the two-match Test series against Zimbabwe which gets underway from Tuesday.
Rashid Khan though is doubtful for the first Test match against Zimbabwe due to a finger injury on his right arm. He picked 1 wicket bowling 8 overs and was economical again having an economy rate of 5.5 in PSL 2021 besides scoring 27 off 15 balls with 3 fours and a six against Peshawar Zulmi.
Meanwhile, Sandeep Lamichhane will be available to Qalandars for the entire season. Sandeep Lamichanne has an excellent track record in limited-overs cricket so far with 125 wickets in 96 T20 games at an economy rate of 6.79. This will be the second stint for Sandeep Lamichanne in the PSL for the Lahore Qalandars side.
He will be the second player from Associate nation to play in the PSL 2021 after Ali Khan from the USA. Sandeep Lamichhane, in fact, made his PSL debut while playing for Lahore Qalandars in the 2019 edition. He also recently represented the Hobart Hurricanes in BBL 2020/21. The leg-spinner has featured in 10 ODIs and 21 T20Is and has 23 and 34 wickets to his name, respectively.

Multan Sultans surmounted the 158-run target with 22 balls spare as Mohammad Rizwan, who posted his second half-century becoming the leading run-getter of the season, scored a breezy 49-ball 76, studded with 12 fours, and Sohaib Maqsood hammered 61 not out off 41 balls. Lahore Qalandars will next lock horns with Karachi Kings.
