Washington : US President Joe Biden said on Friday that he squarely stands by his decision to withdraw all American troops from Afghanistan on August 31.
Reiterating his point once again, President Biden said, “I have never been of the view that we should be sacrificing American lives to try to establish a democratic government in Afghanistan, a country that has never once in its entire history been a united country,”
He added that it is time to end the 20-year-war.
President Biden made this statement even as terrorists attacked Kabul airport killing several people including a dozen American servicemen. Thousands of Afghan citizens and foreign nationals are desperately waiting at Kabul airport to be evacuated.
