Washington : US President Joe Biden on Friday vowed to hunt down the terrorists who were responsible for the attack on Kabul airport
Sending out a stern warning to those behind the attack, Biden said, “We will hunt you down and make you pay.”
President Biden’s statement came after a terrorist attack at Kabul airport killed nearly 40 people, including 13 US service members even as he reiterated that the frantic mission to airlift Americans from Afghanistan would continue.
“We will not forgive. We will not forget. We will hunt you down and make you pay,” Biden said, hours after the Pentagon stated that 12 service members had been killed in two separate suicide blasts that took place outside the airport gates.
Later, the US Central Command said another US service member had died, with a total of 18 wounded. Ten Marines were among the 13 service members killed.
President Biden said he has asked the US military for options to respond to the explosions, which, he said, had allegedly been carried out by affiliates of the Islamic State operating in Afghanistan.
