Pondy LG forces Jipmer authorites to sing Tamil Thai Valthu song

Puducherry, June 25 (Dumanimail) Lt.Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan forced the Jipmer authorities to sing the “Tamil Thai Valthu”( invocation to Mother Tamil) song at a function held on Saturday.
While it is a practice to sing the Tamil Thai Valthu song at every government functions in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, Jipmer decided to sing the ‘Dhanvanthri slogan’ in its functions.
Today also a function commenced after singing the Dhanvanthri slogan.
The Lt Governor who noticed this insisted that Tamil Thai Valthu song be sung following which it was done at the function later.
Talking to news persons, Soundararajan said she only told them to sing the song.
She thanked the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya for promising to resolve all the issues in Jipmer including that of medicines and doctors.
The Lt Governor said since, many in Jipmer do not know Tamil language, they are doing a wrong thing without knowing it.
Since, she is concerned of the public opinion that Jipmer is doing something wrong, I asked them to sing the Tamil Thai Valthu song, she said.
Soundararajan said since we are serving the Tamil people, she in her address put forth a demand that National Anthem and Tamil Thai Valthu song should be there in every function.
Jipmer agreed to this and said that hereafter, Tamil Thai Valthui song will be sung in every function, she added.
Asked about the conferring of land power on her, She said that a wrong information was spread and no one sought any right on the issue.
