Police allowed BJP goons to vandalise CM residence with motive to kill Kejriwal: Sisodia

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday accused Delhi Police of allowing the Bharatiya Janata Party workers to vandalise the property at the Chief Minister’s residence and alleged that it was part of a plan to kill Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. “How can the protesters be allowed to reach the gates of a Chief Minister’s residence? It was Delhi Police, who escorted the BJP miscreants there,” he said at a press conference here. Earlier today, the Aam Aadmi Party claimed that an attack at the CM’s residence occurred, in which the CCTV camera and security barriers installed there were destroyed. The boom barrier at the entrance gate also got dismantled in the alleged attack. The incident happened during the protest of BJP Yuva Morch, an outfit of the saffron party, outside the CM’s residence. The protest was led by BJP MP Tejasvi Surya demanding Kejriwal’s apology for allegedly mocking the Kashmiri Pandits. Sisodia said the loss in Punjab assembly polls has baffled the BJP and the saffron party is now using the issue of Kashmiri Pandits for conspiring to kill Kejriwal. “Today’s attack on CM Arvind Kejriwal’s residence in the presence of Delhi Police was a conspiracy planned by BJP to kill him. The loss in Punjab polls have baffled them,” he added. Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has detained around 70 people in connection with creating ruckus outside the CM’s residence and vandalising the property. A senior police official said that legal action is being initiated regarding this incident. According to police, a dharna was started by around 150-200 protestors of BJP Yuva Morcha outside CM’s residence at Link Road near IP College against the remarks of Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi Vidhan Sabha regarding the movie The Kashmir Files. “At around 1 pm, some of the protestors breached two barricades and reached outside the CM house, where they created ruckus and shouted slogans. They were carrying a small box of paint, from which they threw paint outside the door. In the imbroglio, a boom barrier arm was also found vandalised, as also a CCTV camera,” a statement from Delhi Police said.
