New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders on Thursday extended their wishes to the people on the occasion of Navratri.
The Prime Minister tweeted, “Navratri greetings to everyone. The coming days are about devoting ourselves to the worship of Jagat Janani Maa. May Navratri be the bringer of strength, good health and prosperity in everyone’s lives.”
Mr Modi also tweeted a prayer of Maa Shailputi.
“It is day 1 of Navratri and we pray to Maa Shailputri. Here is a Stuti that is devoted to her,” he said.
BJP President JP Nadda also greeted the people on Navratri.
In his tweet Nadda said, “Om Devi Shailputryai Namah. Hearty greetings to all the countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Navratri, the holy festival of worship of Goddess Durga, the symbol of power. I pray to Mother Durga, the mother of the world, for happiness, peace, prosperity, splendor and health in everyone’s life. Long live the Mother!!.,”.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah in his greeting message said, “Best wishes to everyone on the occasion of Navratri, the great festival of accumulation of power and awakening of self-consciousness. May Adishakti Maa Durga fulfill everyone’s wishes and bestow happiness, prosperity and good health in everyone’s life. Long live the Mother!.”
Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri posted a mantra while wishing the people of the country on the beginning of nine-day festival of Navratri.
“Devi Sarvabhuteshu Chenetyabhidhiyate. Namastasya Namastasya Namastasya Namo Namah || Hearty greetings to all the countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Navratri. Mother, keep your mercy and blessings on all of us,” he tweeted.
Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi also greeted the people on the occasion of Navaratri.
“Wishing you all a very Happy Navratri” he said in a tweet.
Navratri is celebrated to mark Goddess Durga’s victory over the demon Mahishasura, signifying the victory of good over evil.
