Bhopal : Two long-absconding individuals accused of poaching pangolins, transporting scales and trading in them have been placed under arrest by local officials of the State Tiger Strike Force and their counterparts from Jabalpur.
“In Tuesday’s action, Irfan – hailing from Anuppur District’s Kotma – was apprehended and information divulged by him led to the nabbing of Danish Raza in Mandla District’s Bichhiya. Substantial video footage and audio evidence regarding pangolin smuggling was appropriated. They owed allegiance to the same gang whose four members were collared on August 29, 2019 at Jabalpur Railway Station while in possession of 8.5 kg scales,” Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Alok Kumar said.
