Bhubaneswar : A lowpressure area is likely to formed over the northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal. Following this, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall across Odisha from August 12. The system is expected to form on August 13, bringing widespread showers and thunderstorms to several parts of the state until August 14. The IMD has warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall in many districts. A yellow alert has also been issued for Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, and Gajapati. These districts might witness lightning and rain until 8:30 am tomorrow. Additionally, 20 other districts may witness thunderstorms with wind speeds
of 30–40 kmph. Authorities have urged residents to stay alert and follow official weather updates.
