Bhubaneswar : Biotechnology has tremendous potential to contribute to the states’
growth trajectory in the form of bio-economy fostering all possibilities in this sector.
With this, the Government of Odisha has assigned IIMSambalpur to develop the first Bio-Economy report of the state assessing key strengths, challenges and growth opportunities. In this regard a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Science & Technology Department & Indian Institute of Management, Sambalpur today at Kharvel Bhawan. The MoU was signed between Additional Secretary of Department Puja Mishra and Director of IIM Prof Mahadeo Jaiswal in the presence Science & Technology Minister Krushna Chandra Patra and Principal Secretary Chithra
Arumugam. This report will provide a strategic roadmap, ensuring bioeconomic initiatives of the state align with national and global best practices while fostering a robust bioeconomy ecosystem. present on the occasion. Earlier on July 29, an agreement was signed between the Institute of Mathematics and Applications (IMA) and Odisha Construction Corporation Limited (OCCL) to strengthen the infrastructure facilities at IMA. The MoU was signed between Director of IMA Prof Josabanta Jena and General Manager of OCCL Pratap Chandra Chaudhury in the presence Science & Technology Minister Krushna Chandra Patra, and Principal Secretary Chithra Arumugam. The state government has sanctioned Rs 26.05 Crore for construction of a new Library Building, staff quarters for faculties, Additional Floor on Hostel and on academic block in the institute.
