Note on Confiscation of Vehicles Seized under Odisha Excise Act

Berhampur: KhallikotePS of Ganjam Policedetected 4 cases underOdisha excise act on14.10.23. In these 4 cases,
05 persons are arrested. 360Litres of ID liquor has beenseized. One auto and 3motor cycles have also been
seized. All these vehiclesshall be sent forconfiscation under relevantprovisions of the Odisha
excise act.Confiscation: In year2023, till September end,Ganjam Police has seized77 vehicles under Odishaexcise act. Ganjam Policehas applied forconfiscation proceedings.Police has received ordersfor the initiation of theconfiscation proceedingsfor more than 50 vehicles.After confiscation,vehicle can be releasedonly after paying the
amount equal to thevaluation of the vehicle.
