Patna : Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today instructed the concerned authorities to accelerate work on the Ganga Jal Udvah scheme for providing pure drinking water in Rajgir, Gaya, Bodh Gaya and Nawada.
While reviewing the scheme the Chief Minister instructed the authorities concerned to complete the work within the stipulated period and directed the officials to make on the spot assessment to ensure supply of drinking water to each and every person of the area.
The Chief Minister also asked the Water Resources Department, Public Health engineering and Urban Development and housing department to work in tandem over the project.
Outlining the developmental activities taken up in Rajgir Mr Kumar asked the officers concerned to work strategically keeping in mind the increasing population. Je also asked the officials to sensitize people to maintain ground water level.
Earlier water resources department secretary Sanjiv Hans through his Power Point presentation over the project informed that the prime work of the project would be finished by March 2022 and the water supply would start from the month of June 2022.
