Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday congratulated winners of elections for 24 seats of Bihar Legislative Council from local bodies quota. Kumar told media persons here that pattern of elections of 24 seats of Bihar Legislative Council from local bodies quota, was different from from general election. Its voters was not the common man but limited to elected members of local bodies and others, he added. ” I congratulate winners of Council elections from local bodies quota”, Chief Minister said adding that results of some seats had surprised him. At some seats, his party candidates were confident of winning but results that emerged were different, he noted. Kumar said that candidates were working hard in their respective constituencies since long. Even BJP had won larger number of seats in last council elections from local bodies quota when his party JD(U) was in alliance with RJD, he said while responding to a question regarding number of seats bagged by NDA in just concluded Council elections. NDA had bagged 13 seats followed by RJD-6 and Congress-1 while 4 seats had gone into kitty of Independents. In NDA, BJP had bagged 7 seats followed by JD(U)-5 while Paras faction of LJP managed to win one seat. Results were declared on April 7.Â
