Monsoon session of Bihar Legislature adjourned for the day

Patna, June 24 (DumaniMail) The monsoon session of the Bihar legislature adjourned for the day on Friday after making obituary references to departed souls who passed away in the intervening period.

The names of presiding officers were announced in both Upper and Lower houses and business advisory committees were constituted separately in both of the houses for the monsoon session.

Welcoming the members of the house, Bihar assembly speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha appealed to them to co-operate in maintaining the dignity of the house. He said that the constitution was not only a book but was an ideology and suggested the members to maintain a balance between rights and duties.

He said that a digital museum of the status assembly was being prepared in which the achievements, contributions and work of the best of the Legislator would be collected.

He said that a committee has been constituted in the leadership of the Karnataka state assembly speaker, of which he is also a member, to select the best legislature in the country.

The speaker said that keeping this in mind best performing legislator would also be identified and selected in Bihar and appeal to the members to strive for making Bihar legislature, the best legislature in the country.

While welcoming the members of the Upper house, Bihar Legislative Council Acting Chairman Awdhesh Narayan Singh appealed to them to co-operate in smooth functioning of the House which has a glorious past.

Later obituary references were made in both of the houses separately to those who passed away during the intervening period including former MLA Nandkishor Prasad, Naval Kishor Rai, Sitaram Das, Suresh Kumar Mishra Tribhuvan Singh, Ramdev Verma, Yugal Kishor Prasad, Prashant Kumar, Shivnandan Prasad Singh, Yogendra Pandey, MLC Aslam Azad and Dr B Bhattacharya.
