‘Mission Shakti Scooter Yojana’ LaunchedBhubaneswar: Odisha ChiefMinister Naveen Patnaik onWednesday launched the ‘MissionShakti Scooter Yojana’ at afunction held at the conventionhall of the Lok Seva Bhawan in
Bhubaneswar. While 100 womenwere handed over the keys toscooters, at least 15,000 womenwill receive scooters under theMission Shakti Scooter Yojana’.Speaking on the occasion, theChief Minister said that theperformance of women involvedin the Mission Shakti scheme isnot only good but praiseworthy.Under the Mission ShaktiScooter Yojana, eligibleindividuals will benefit from fullinterest subvention on bank loansup to Rs 1 lakh to purchase a
scooter of their choice, makingthe transition to sustainablemobility more affordable andmore accessible than ever before.The Mission Shakti ScooterYojana aims to provide crucialmobility support to CommunitySupport Staff (CSS) and EC(Executive Committee) membersof women SHG by facilitatingtheir access to scooters.The federation ecosystem,from panchayat to district levelhas been set in place to supportMission Shakti SHGs at thegrassroots.
By providing Mission ShaktiFederation Leaders and CSS withaffordable access to twowheelers,the initiative will
enhance their ability to carry outtheir responsibilities effectively,promote efficiency, and expandtheir outreach within thecommunity.With a dedicated budgetaryprovision of Rs 528.55 crore overthe next five years, Mission
Shakti is determined to make thisscheme widely accessible,empowering more CommunitySupport Staff and ExecutiveCommittee (EC) members acrossthe state. The “Mission ShaktiScooter Yojana” not only easesthe personal mobility of womenbut also acknowledges the vitalrole played by CommunitySupport Staff and EC members
in driving social change anddevelopment for womenempowerment across the state.Addressing the gathering,
Mission Shakti Secretary SujathaKarthikeyan said that the launchof the Mission Shakti scooterscheme is a milestone step.About 15 thousand membershave taken scooters so far.
