Lucknow : After the success of the first and second phase of the campaign, for girl’s empowerment, it’s new phase- ‘Mission Shakti 3.0’ is going to start from August 21 onwards. The chosen date is the eve of the Rakshabandhan festival, and the campaign will continue till December.
On behalf of the Department of Women’s Welfare, various programs are being organized from August 7 onwards related to the third phase of the campaign.
Director, Women’s Welfare Department Manoj Rai said here on Wednesday that the State Government has started a mega campaign like Mission Shakti to take them on the path of empowerment.
“The state government is committed to the safety, dignity and empowerment of women under which positive results of “Mission Shakti” have been seen. Along with organizing various programs on behalf of the department, work is being done to connect women and daughters with the schemes of the government”.
The third campaign of Mission Shakti was started by the Department of Women Welfare with the ‘Haq Ki Baat’ program. Under which, through an interaction programme organized in all the districts, the District Magistrate and DPO interacted with adolescent girls and women for two hours and discussed issues like sexual exploitation, gender inequality, domestic violence, female foeticide, gender violence at workplace and dowry harassment.
Suggestions related to protection and security were also given to women and daughters. District Magistrates interacted with adolescent girls and women through webinars, chaupals, online meetings and video conferencing.
While promoting the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign under Mission Shakti, the birth of girl child was celebrated in the districts of UP. Gifts were given to the girl childs born on August 11 and also to their mothers.
Plantation work was also done equal to the number of daughters born in each district on this day. The responsibility of protection of these trees was entrusted to the men.
Through the Swavalamban camp, the women and daughters in the state will be linked to various schemes of the government. To make the women self-reliant, along with giving information about other schemes, the application forms of schemes like Destitute Women Pension Scheme, Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana, UP Chief Minister Bal Sewa Scheme among others will also be completed in these camps.
This is a unique effort in itself where the applicant, verification officer and approval officer will come together on a single platform to complete the process in a day. Along with this, through a mega event program, an awareness program on the theme of women’s identity will be organized across the state.
