Mayawati appoints her nephew as BSP’s national coordinator along with 3 other chief coordinators in UP

After a humiliating defeat in the 2022 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Sunday appointed three chief coordinators along with dissolving the entire executive body of state unit. Mayawati has appointed her nephew Akash Anand, the national coordinator of the BSP by giving him a big responsibility. Mayawati dissolved the entire executive body of Uttar Pradesh BSP except the state president and district president. She has appointed three chief coordinators for Uttar Pradesh who are Munkad Ali of Meerut, Rajkumar Gautam of Bulandshahr and Vijay Kumar of Azamgarh. The announcement was made at the review meeting of the party here on Sunday. BSP has won just one seat of Rasra assembly segment where Uma Shanker Singh was successful

. In the meeting Mayawati announced return of Shah Alam alias Guddu Jamali in the party and he is slated to be the party candidate from Azamgarh Lok Sabha seat bypolls which fell vacant after resignation of SP president Akhilesh Yadav. Guddu Jamali, the former leader of the BSP Legislature Party, left the party before the assembly elections. Guddu Jamali was the AIMIM candidate from Mubarakpur in Azamgarh in the assembly elections. Sector in-charge, district president, all the candidates of assembly elections, BAMCEF and brotherhood committee convenors were also present in the meeting at the BSP’s state office under the chairmanship of Mayawati. The BSP, which formed the government in Uttar Pradesh with 206 seats in 2007, got 80 seats in 2012 and 19 in 2017.
