New Delhi, July 18 (Dumanimail) Former Union minister and former Governor Margaret Alva, the Opposition’s candidate for Vice Presidential polls, will file her nomination papers on Tuesday.
“Tomorrow, Margaret Alva will file her nomination papers,” Congress MP Abdul Khaleque told reporters here on Monday.
Khaleque urged all the MPs to extend their support to her.
Alva has served as the Governor of Goa, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand. A former Rajya Sabha member, she also served as the Vice Chairman of the Rajya Sabha from 1983-85.
Alva was earlier a senior figure in the Congress and a Joint Secretary of the All India Congress Committee.
The BJP-led NDA’s candidate Jagdeep Dhankar filed his nomination papers here on Monday.
