Chennai, Apr 6 (UNI) In a unique initiative, popular Tamil film actor Vijay pedalled his way to a polling booth to cast his vote in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections today.
Vijay came to the booth by riding a bi-cycle, even as his fans toed him in two-wheelers. Vijay’s move has sparked a debate in the social media as to whether he is apparently referring to the growing increase in the prices of petrol and diesel.
Prominent stars from the Tamil film industry, popularly called as Kollywood, queued up in large numbers to
exercise their democratic right.
Actors Ajith Kumar, his actress-wife Shalini, Superstar Rajinikanth, actor-politician Kamal Haasan, accompanied
by his daughters Shruthi and Akshara, actress Khushbu Sundar, who is contesting the polls as a BJP candidate
from the Thousand Lights constituency in the city, besides actors, Sivakumar, his son and actors Surya, his wife
Jyothika and his brother Karthi, and actor Vikram, are among those who cast their ballots.
