Srinagar : Killing of a Police Personnel and a labourer from Bihar by militants in south Kashmir district of Kulgam on Friday evening was widely condemned.
A police personnel Bantu Sharma son of Trilokinath Sharma resident of Wanpoh Kulgam was shot dead by militants last evening. A labourer from Bihar Shankar Choudhary was also shot dead at Neehama Kulgam last night.
Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir range, K Vijay Kumar said militants and its handlers in Pakistan are frustrated after security forces achieved major successes and eliminated top commander and burial of separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani was performed in a peaceful environment.
“I strongly condemn the cowardly attack on our police jawan Bantu Sharma by terrorists at Kulgam. Perpetrators of this heinous act will be brought to justice very soon. My deepest condolences to the bereaved family of the martyr”, Lt Governor Manoj Sinha said in a tweet on official twitter handle of LG.
In a tweet on Kashmir police twitter handle IGP Kumar said “#Terrorists and its handlers in #Pakistan are frustrated with recent elimination of top commanders of terrorist outfits and #peaceful environment maintained even after death of separatist leader SAS Geelani”. He further tweeted “ That’s why #terrorists have killed #cowardly one #unarmed policeman (PSI) recently, one unarmed policeman & one innocent outside labourer today in #Kulgam district”.
Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in a tweet said “ The murder of Shankar Choudhary is a cowardly terror attack that can have no justification. I condemn this attack unreservedly & send my condolences to the family of Shankar with prayers for his soul to rest in peace”.
In earlier tweet the Vice President of the National Conference (NC) Omar said “ unequivocally condemn the militant attack in Kulgam district of South Kashmir. My heartfelt condolences to the family & colleagues of Constable Bantoo Sharma who was killed in the line of duty earlier this evening. May his soul rest in peace”.
The NC On party twitter said “ Unreservedly condemn the dastardly attack on Shankar Choudary of Bihar in South Kashmir’s Kulgam. We express our heartfelt sympathies with his family & loved ones. May the departed soul rest in peace”.
“Very sorry to hear about the terrorist attack in Kulgam today that claimed yet another innocent life. Deepest condolences & prayers with Bantoo Sharma ji’s family. May his soul rest in peace” , president Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mehbooba said in a tweet.
