Bengaluru, June 23 (Dumanimail) The Income Tax sleuths on Thursday are conducting raids at several educational institutes in Karnataka for allegedly evading tax.
The raids began on Thursday morning. The search operations were carried out at Sir M Visveswaraya Institute of Technology and other institutes, I-T officials said.
The purpose of the I-T raids on educational institutions is to ascertain whether there is a link between politicians and them.
As the raids are underway, I-T officials are expected to issue an official statement later in the day.
