Justice Prakash Shrivastava to be new Chief Justice of Calcutta HC; oath ceremony on Monday

Kolkata : Justice Prakash Shrivastava, who has been appointed as Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court by President of India Ram Nath Kovind in a notification, will take chair from Monday.

Shrivastava, 60-year-old, is expected to take oath as the Chief Justice of Calcutta HC at a function here on October 11.

According to a Rajbhawan communique, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar would be conducting the swearing-in ceremony at 1100 hours in the court premises.

Justice Shrivastava of Madhya Pradesh HC would replace Calcutta HC acting Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal, who has been appointed as the Chief Justice of Allahabad HC.

President Kovind on Saturday appointed Chief Justices to eight High Courts, including Allahabad and Madhya Pradesh, besides approving the transfer of five Chief Justices in other High Courts.
