Invitation to Inauguration of Puri Heritage Project: Lord Jagannath First Invitee

Bhubaneswar: Invitation of guests for the inaugural ceremony of Puri Heritage Project began today. Lord Jagannath has been the first invitee as the prime guest on the occasion. Sources said the Shree Mandira Parikrama Project wherein the Puri Shree Jagannath Temple and its surroundings have been developed as a world class shrine, has been recently completed. The project will be formally inaugurated and dedicated for the visitors in the coming days. That’s why the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) have initiated the invitation process on Thursday. The invitation process began from the Jagannath Temple in the morning wherein the Lord Jagannath, his siblings and other presiding Gods and Goddess were offered invitation cards. After performing a puja and a number of rituals before the SJTA office, temple administrators accompanied by the union of servitors took out a procession into the sanctum sanctorum of the Jagannath Temple in the noon. They invited Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, Subhadra and Lord Sudarshan there whereas Goddess Laxmi, Bimla, Nrusingha, Mangala and Pancha Pandavs were also invited to the inaugural function. .First invitation was accorded to Lord Jagannath and the sibling Gods, as a part of the ritual. Invitation cards to other dignitaries including the Chief Minister and saints from across the country will be carried out from December 24, said a senior servitor.
