New Delhi, Apr 3 (UNI): India on Saturday reported 89,129 new cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, pushing the country caseload to 1,23,92,260, while the death toll mounted to 1,64,110 with 714 more fatalities.
According to the Union Health Ministry, the active cases rose by 44,213 to stand at 6,58,909. It is now 5.32 per cent of the total caseload.
The past 24 hours saw 44,202 people recovering from the deadly virus, taking the total recovery count to 1,15,69,241, which is 93.36 per cent of the case tally. The fatality rate stood at 1.32 per cent.
Meanwhile, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that a total of 24,69,59,192 samples have been tested so far for coronavirus. Out of this, 10,46,605 were tested in the past one day.
On the vaccination front, a total of 7,30,54,295 people have been vaccinated across the country till now.
