New Delhi : A total of 18,166 people have tested positive for Covid-19 during the past 24 hours in India, the Union
Health Ministry said on Sunday.
This is the newly recorded daily cases in the last 214 days.
As per the bulletin issued by the Ministry, the latest addition has pushed the cumulative case tally to 3,39,53,475, while the death toll rose to 4,50,589 as 214 succumbed to the virus.
On the other hand, 23,624 more people have recuperated from the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 3,32,71,915. The recovery rate stands at 97.99 per cent, highest since March last year.
The cumulative active caseload now stands at 2,30,971, less than one per cent of the total cases, the figures showed.
According to the bulletin, 58.25 crore tests for Covid-19 have been conducted so far.
Meanwhile, India has administered 94.70 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive.
