New Delhi : India has reported 15,906 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours and 561 deaths, the Union Health Ministry said on Sunday.
The recovery rate touched 98.17%, said the Ministry, as 16,479 patients recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,35,48,605.
“The Active Caseload falls below 2 lakh mark and is presently at 1,72,594 which is lowest in 235 days. Active cases presently constitute 0.51 per cent of the country’s total Positive Cases since 2020 March.
“The daily positivity rate is 1.19 per cent, which is less than 2 per cent for last 20 days, whereas weekly positivity rate is 1.23 per cent which also remains less than 2 per cent for the last 30 days now,” the Ministry reported.
The testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. The last 24 hours a total of 13,40,158 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 59.97 Crore.
In the last 24 hours, India administered 77,40,676 vaccine doses as the coverage exceeded 100 Crore to to reach 102.10 Cr landmark as per provisional reports till 7 a.m. Sunday,” the Ministry said.
The data suggested that, more than 106.79 crore vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through the direct state procurement category.
“More than 12 Crore balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered,” the data said.
